# Illness Prevention
**ಒಳಚರಂಡಿಯ ನೀರಿಂದಾಗಬಹುದಾದ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಡೆಯೋಣ.**
ಪ್ರವಾಹವಾಗಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ, ಪ್ರವಾಹದ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳಚರಂಡಿ ನೀರಿನ ಹೊಲಸು, ಹಾಗೂ ಕೃಷಿ ಮತ್ತು ಔದ್ಯಮಿಕ ಗಲೀಜು ಪದಾರ್ಥಗಳು ಸೇರಿರಬಹುದು. ಪ್ರವಾಹದ ನೀರು ಚರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ತಗಲಿದರೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಅಪಾಯವೇನೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಈ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಮೇಲಿನವಾಗಿರುವ ತಿಂಡಿ-ತೀರ್ಥ ಸೇವಿಸಿದರೆ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯಾಗುವ ಅಪಾಯವಿದೆ.
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ಒಳಚರಂಡಿ ನೀರು ಹರಿದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛಗೊಳಿಸುವಾಗ ರಬ್ಬರ್ ಬೂಟ್ಸ್ ಮತ್ತು ವಾಟರ್-ಪ್ರೂಫ್ ಗ್ಲವ್ಸ್ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಕೊಳೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯಲು ಆಗದಂತಹ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಎಸೆದುಬಿಡಿ - ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆ, ಚಾಪೆ, ಪರದೆ, ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ.
ನಿಮಗೆ ತೆರೆದ ಗಾಯಗಳಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ, ಅವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾಹದ ನೀರಿಗೆ ತಗಲಿಸದಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿ. ಹಾಗೂ ಗಾಯವನ್ನು ಸೋಪ್ ಇಂದ ತೊಳೆದು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛವಾಗಿಟ್ಟಿರಿ, ಸೋಂಕು ತಗಲದೆ ಇರುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಆಂಟಿಬಯಾಟಿಕ್ ಮುಲಾಮು (ಆಯಿಂಟ್ಮೆಂಟ್) ಹಚ್ಚಿ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ.
ಪ್ರವಾಹ ಅಥವಾ ಒಳಚರಂಡಿ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಕಲುಷಿತ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಸಿನೀರು ಹಾಗೂ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯ ಸೋಪಿನಿಂದ ಒಗೆಯಿರಿ, ಕಲುಷವಾಗಿರದ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಒಗೆಯಬೇಡಿ.
ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾಹವಾಗಿರುವ ಜಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಟ ಆಡಲು ಬಿಡಬೇಡಿ. ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನುವಂಥ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳ ಜೊತೆ ಆಟವಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಡಬೇಡಿ. ಆಟದ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಬ್ಲೀಚ್ ಪುಡಿ ಮತ್ತು ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ತೊಳೆಯಿರಿ. ಕೆಲವು ಆಟಿಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಚ್ಛಗೊಳಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಉದಾಹರಣೆಗೆ ಮೆತ್ತಗಿರುವ ಸ್ಟಫ್ಡ್ ಗೊಂಬೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಎಳೆ ಮಗುವಿನ ಆಟಿಕೆಗಳು. ಇವನ್ನು ಬಿಸಾಡಿರಿ.
* If there is flooding, the waters may contain fecal material from overflowing sewage systems and agricultural and industrial waste. Although skin contact with floodwater does not, by itself, pose a serious health risk, there is risk of disease from eating or drinking anything contaminated with floodwater.
* If there has been a backflow of sewage into your house, wear rubber boots and waterproof gloves during cleanup. Remove and discard contaminated household materials that cannot be disinfected, such as wall coverings, cloth, rugs, and drywall.
* If you have any open cuts or sores that will be exposed to floodwater, keep them as clean as possible by washing them with soap and applying an antibiotic ointment to discourage infection.
* Wash clothes contaminated with flood or sewage water in hot water and detergent and separately from uncontaminated clothes and linens.
* Do not allow children to play in floodwater areas and do not allow children to play with floodwater-contaminated toys that have not been disinfected. Disinfect toys by using a solution of bleach and water. Some toys, such as stuffed animals and baby toys, cannot be disinfected; they should be discarded.
